Evans Family on Mission in Thailand

Dear friends,

New Years greetings from the Evans family! We enjoyed a special time over the Christmas period with my parents and older brother. As usual my folks spoilt their grandchildren (and Sarah and me), with gifts and ‘special’ outings. We are currently in the middle of packing, and hope to be moved by the weekend of the 24th of this month. We believe God has acted on our behalf to provide a house for us, which I will speak more about in our next newsletter.

In our last newsletter, I mentioned that we were in a position of need”, and I also spoke of a team from The Gap visiting us. I want to now acknowledge that we were actually in considerable debt, but God in His faithfulness had made provision for us through the generosity of River City Family Church, as represented by the small team that came. We were tremendously encouraged, not only by this generous gift, but also through the fellowship and willingness of the team to be a part of our lives at this time. The young people in the team treated our children as peers and family, a special blessing for them. We know that God ministered both through and to this team, and trust that our relationship will continue to grow with them.

The Lord has been doing good things in the village of Huay Salop since our last newsletter. Christina went with a small team and participated in a Christmas program. Praise the Lord, another 2 families responded to Christ, and more idols were removed to the glory of God! The week following the program, 30 people came to hear God’s word. Friends, this is happening in a village where, up until a few months ago, only demon spirits were worshipped. Now, the Name above all names has been proclaimed, and captives are being set free! Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support in 2004.

Your brother in Christ
