Prayer and Praise News Febuary 2005

Dear friends, greetings in the name of the Most High God. Please forgive me for such a long gap between newsletters. We have been back in Australia for about 10 weeks and yet it seems like we only just landed. Since arriving we have lived in 4 different houses, and look like we will be moving again next week. I won’t go into all the details, but suffice to say we look forward to being able to settle (at least for the time we are here) after this next move. We have been greatly blessed by friends and family with our accomodation and are very grateful to all who have helped us during this time.

Sarah and the children are doing well with the new school year well under way. Much prayer has been offered for Samuel regarding his educational and emotional needs and we are so thankful for the Lords provision for him in these areas. He is now attending Primary School (along with Jonathan), where he is receiving help and making new friends. There are still challenges both in the school and at home, but we are confident that this year will see tremendous benefits for Samuel as he grows in the grace of God.

For myself, I must admit that I have been feeling a bit like a fish out of water since our return. I looked for several weeks in the job section of the papers and then looked around a few employment agencies. The result is that I am now working for a pool maintenance company, 5 days a week. I get on really well with the boss, who I have already been able to share my testimony with. The pay is enough and I have my uniform, boots, and a vehicle supplied. Although a bit warm at the moment, I do enjoy working outdoors. Thankyou Lord for your provision!

We have been in contact with several friends from Thailand, and have been encouraged by reports of the ongoing outreach amongst the Shan people. Afellow worker reports that a student at the girls hostel in Mae Hong Son gave her life to the Lord last Sunday. This is particuarly special for us as she is a friend of our oldest girls. Please pray for her continued growth in the Lord.

Here in Australia we have been confronted with some trying times of recent as our Pastor has been diagnosed with cancer of the bone. He only found out about four weeks ago and is in quite a bit of pain We are standing with him in prayer and trusting the Lord for his total recovery. Please pray for this man of God, that the Lords grace would sustain him throughout this trial, and that the church would rally in prayer and support for John and his family.

We still cannot give a return date as yet, but continue to seek the Lord about His will concering this. We will make the decision in the next few months and let everyone know. Our desire is to go back to Thailand asap, but whether here or there, we will serve the Lord.
